AT LAST we have finished our renovations and extensions.

Bernina Chatswood now has a neat and modern showroom down stairs and upstairs is a new service workshop and large teaching room and terrace. We can now offer an extensive range of hands on classes catering for all abilities.   

Apart from the extensions we have more exciting changes for 2013.Thea Horseman is coming to join us bringing all her expertise in all things Bernina and more. Check out our hands on software classes.

Letty Larosa is also joining our team. Letty is an amazing and experienced teacher with a wealth of patternmaking, techniques and garment construction knowledge. She is starting the year with fitting and techniques classes. Her classes book out quickly.

Tessuti Fashion Awards

Bernina Chatswood sponsors Tessuti Fashion Awards every year. First prize is a trip to New York/London and second prize, a Bernina overlocker. This years 2nd prize winner was Alyson Whale from the southern suburbs. Saffron Craig Screen Printing Classes

Saffon is a young talented fabric designer—her prints are innovative, creative and suitable for quilts, furnishings and garment work.

We now have the room and are lucky enough to have Saffon  come to teach screen printing classes. Come along and create your own fabrics in this workshop. Thursday 14th and Sat 16th March

                                           Rhona’s Japanese Inspired Jacket

This jacket class was taught at past Sewing Guild Conventions by Rhona Feeney and through popular demand Rhona will come and teach it at Chatswood.

What it means to Purchase a Bernina Machines from us at CHATSWOOD

Apart from receiving warranty services, we also offer free one on one machine lessons. These lessons have no time frame, or set number. You don't need to bring your machine, just your instruction book. A booking is required.

You will also receive a Tessuti Fabric Discount Voucher when you purchase a Bernina sewing machine or overlocker.

We have recently had many new members joining, so for your benefit we will outline what  Bernina club can do for you.

Our club session times are listed above and we do ask that you  ring and book in so that we can make sure the numbers are even for each session.

Bernina Club membership is only $55. You can join at any time and your membership is a full 12 months from that date. Membership entitles you to 10% discount off all accessories, threads, needles & haberdashery every day of the week.

On club day we have extra specials for you and 20% discount off items & accessories relevant to the project for that month. Each month we demonstrate a new technique or a project for you to try using lots of different sewing feet and accessories to stimulate your interest and help you get the most out of your sewing machine and overlocker. Meetings are friendly & informal and you will find yourself forming new and lasting friendships.

Class Registration is to be confirmed with  a $30  deposit.

              This is the only way to secure your placement and a requirements list will be given at this time.

If there are any classes you would like to attend and the dates do not suit you—please ring as we can possibly arrange other times.

Teachers Only& Senior Textiles Students Classes

Several years ago we introduced a freehand embellishment demonstration in response to the many enquiries from students and teachers. We have extended this idea to include teachers only ‘Hands On’ Overlocking workshops and Advanced Sewing Techniques Demo and Hands on Advanced Technique in the school holidays aimed at students.

This year we have introduced a Costume Presentation with our resident costume maker Lynette for students and teachers. We are also offering Software Classes with Thea Horsman . Ring or email our store for more information.
